Quick and Easy Sugar Cookie Recipe

Learn how to make sugar cookies without a lot of effort. There is nothing quite like a well-balanced sugar cookie recipe. With America’s fondness for sugar, it is difficult to find a sugar cookie recipe that isn’t sickly sweet.

Candy coated sugar cookies can be a delight to eat.  But the problem is most are too sweet once the toppings are added.  In order to prevent this problem, we reduced the sugar just enough to make this the perfect cookie for decorations.

This is the drop sugar cookie recipe that can be rolled around in sparkling sugar, candy bits and drizzled with caramel, look no further. I do recommend skipping using the cookie scoop and chilling overnight. I did this below and the cookies stayed a bit…well scoop like. Bonus, these are a “no chill” cookie which saves tons of time.

It’s as simple as mixing the dry ingredients in a bowl, creaming, butter and sugar and adding in the eggs and vanilla.  Then you dump in the flour and mix until just combined.  You can dip or roll the dough into sprinkles now or wait until they are out of the oven. The stiffer dough allows for flexibly in holding onto those candy coatings. If you want a cut-out sugar cookie, try this recipe. Like the crinkly kind? Visit this classic version.
