This soft and chewy melt-in-your mouth sugar cookie recipe is easy to make and delicious!

Ingredients
2 ½cups(375g) flour
1cup(226g) softened butter
1 ¼cups(225g) white sugar
1large(50g) egg
2tsp(10mL) vanilla
1tsp(6g) baking soda
½tsp(2.5g) salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F (180C.)
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
In large bowl, beat softened butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until blended.
Roll 1" (2.5cm) of cookie dough into a ball. Place each ball on a cookie sheet 2" (5cm) apart. Press down with the back of a glass, a spatula or your finger tips until they are about 1/4" (6mm) thick.
Bake 10 - 14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
Notes
For a crinkly taller cookie, raise temperature to 375F (190C) and bake 8 - 10 minutes.
