Amazingly Easy and Crunchy Italian Garlic Croutons

Today, we are going to learn how to make amazing Italian garlic croutons. What is great, it’s made from leftovers and so easy to do! If you make a lot of bread, you’ll eventually have bread you just can’t eat fast enough and wonder what to do with it all.

This is result of fresh bread not keeping very long due to lack of preservatives found in store brands. This is a good issue to have as it gives you options to make other recipes like this one or bread pudding.

Without a doubt, my favorite things to do with leftover bread is to cut them up and make these amazing Italian garlic croutons. It’s super easy, too. You basically cut slices, then cubes slightly bigger than your desired amount, toss in oil and bake. What’s easier than that? Eating them. Eating them is easier than baking.

Be sure to visit us on Instagram and tag us if you make croutons tonight. And just so you know, you don’t need fresh baked bread to make these. You can use the store bought bread just as nicely. I’ll forgive you for not yet making a loaf of bread. Just as long as you promise to try soon!

  • ½ tsp (2g) salt

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray if it isn't non-stick.
  • Arrange cubes of bread on baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake 15-25 minutes, turning over bread once halfway through baking.
  • If not using immediately, reduce oven to 200F (100C) and bake an additional 30 – 60 minutes. This will further dehydrate them and keep them from going soggy.
