Sugar Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups (375g) flour
- 1 cup (226g) softened butter
- 1 ¼ cups (225g) white sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg
- 2 tsp (10mL) vanilla
- 1 tsp (6g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (2.5g) salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C.)
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
- In large bowl, beat softened butter and sugars until creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until blended.
- Roll 1" (2.5cm) of cookie dough into a ball. Place each ball on a cookie sheet 2" (5cm) apart. Press down with the back of a glass, a spatula or your finger tips until they are about 1/4" (6mm) thick.
- Bake 10 – 14 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
