Dazzling Decorative Glitter Sugar Cookies

Now that we have learned how to make sugar cookies and glitter sugar, combine the two for a pretty treat!  Glitter sugar cookies are sure to impress those around you. When you tilt them about they sparkle and shine like little gemstones. They are a hit with everyone.

Also, they are easy to do and fun to involve friends and family. While the cookies are still a bit warm, place something to catch the excess sugar underneath a cookie and sprinkle sugar on top.  I used the waxed paper from making the sugar.

Sprinkle on a generous amount of sugar, wait several seconds and then tilt the cookie and let the excess fall off.  You can reuse the excess sugar as you go.  Move the sprinkled cookie to a rack to finish cooling.  The warmth of the cookie will cause the sugar to heat up slightly and allow it to stick.
