Classic Sugar Cookies
A basic shortbread modified to create a pleasant sugar cookie. Not too sweet, full of butter and simple ingredients most bakers always have on hand.

(200g) flour

(150g) sugar

cup
(113g) softened butter

(50g) egg

(7.5mL) vanilla

(3g) baking soda

(1.25g) salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375F (190C.)
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
In large bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy. Beat in the egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until blended.
Drop 1 tbs of batter onto cookie sheet 2" (5cm) apart.
Bake 8 - 12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on baking sheet for 2 minutes; remove to wire rack to finish cooling.
