Ingredients
4tsp(8g) ground cinnamon
2tsp (4g) ground ginger
1tsp(2g) ground nutmeg
¾tsp(1.5g) ground allspice
½tsp(1g) ground cloves*
Instructions
In a small bowl, stir together the cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves until well blended. Carefully transfer into an airtight container. Store in a cool dark place up to 1 year.
Notes
*Cloves are optional and are not included in the original pumpkin pie spice blend. If you do not like the taste of cloves, omit the spice entirely.The most important spices to use are cinnamon, ginger and allspice. If you do not have nutmeg or cloves, either or both can be left out.As the blend ages, it will loose its flavor and potency. Although it will store up to 1 year with freshly opened spices, if your spices are already opened, it is best used within 2-3 months of blending.This spice blend has no significant nutritional value.
